Privacy Policy

Welcome to Kuri. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights over it.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Identity Data: username, full name, and avatar image.
• Contact Data: email address.
• Content Data: restaurant reviews, photos, dish names, ratings, rankings, and list data you create in the app.
• Usage Data: XP points, level, streak, badge progress, and leaderboard rank derived from your activity.
• Technical Data: device type and operating system, collected automatically when you use the app.
• Transaction Data: subscription status and purchase history, processed by our payment provider.

We do not collect your location data. We do not collect advertising identifiers or track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Collect Your Data

• Directly from you when you create an account, write a review, upload a photo, or contact us.
• Automatically as you use the app (usage and technical data).
• From third-party services we use to operate the app (see Section 4).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your account.
• To display your reviews, rankings, and lists to you and (if your profile is public) other users.
• To operate the community leaderboard, ELO ranking system, and gamification features (XP, levels, badges, streaks).
• To process your referral code and award unlock rewards.
• To manage your Kuri Pro subscription and verify premium entitlements.
• To respond to your support requests and feedback.
• To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and policy violations.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Kuri. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Your account credentials, reviews, and photos are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management. Your subscription status and transaction history are processed by RevenueCat.
• Mapbox — map display. We use Mapbox to render restaurant locations on a map. Your personal location is not sent to Mapbox.

These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data — including your profile, reviews, photos, rankings, and lists — is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate statistics (e.g. total number of reviews for a restaurant) may be retained as they cannot be linked back to you.

6. Your Rights — How to Delete Your Account

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.

To delete your account and all associated data: open the Kuri app → Profile tab → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, reviews, photos, lists, and rankings. This action cannot be undone.

Alternatively, email us at vanshpandya.77@gmail.com with the subject "Delete My Account" and we will process the deletion within 7 days.

You may also request a copy of your data or ask us to correct inaccurate information by emailing the same address.

7. Children's Privacy

Kuri is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at vanshpandya.77@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage for authentication tokens, HTTPS for all data in transit, and row-level access controls on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take all reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
